I confess, I can’t resist a good pun. So when an opportunity came up to create a fetish-talisman-totem-thing, I got my knitting needles out.
Many, many years ago I came across a pattern for tiny knitted dolls. So long ago that, until this opportunity came up, I had completely forgotten I could make them – and how adorable they are. The pattern and author I’ve long since lost and forgotten, but I had a rough idea of what I was doing, and the sizes are so small that it’s no great hardship to unravel what’s done and have another go.
Since starting, I’ve kept knitting more, and they’re improving. I’ll post some more details with each doll individually soon =)
Update: Credit where it’s due! It took a little searching, but I finally found the creator of the original pattern that these dolls are based on in the form of Jean Greenhowe. You can see her last-minute dolls in this book, as well as more of her amazing patterns, including some adorable free ones.

Aw, is that a little bearded lady?? Please tell me it is and she is from Norfolk…
No, there’s a story behind him though… and now I know what to make next. After the umpteen other things on my list…
Oh Yeah, you sooo have to do some Norfolk Dollies. Make sure the ladies have little five o’clock shadows, else they won’t be realistic…teehee..
I have a minor doll fetish too – yours are adorable! Mine are collectible Barbies – Irish & medieval princesses. Also Lord of the Rings (cringe) collectibles. How do you say “nerd” in Elvish?
